From my friend Jim in Saint Louis - possibly the finest bike ever built! Well, possibly....
"The bike that few could afford when it was new." And: "Probably the best bike you will ever own."
Not much to say about this Craigslist ad from St Louis...but I'm not sure if these old A-Ds are in fact the Rolls-Royce of bicycles. See for yourself.

Operative word is "possibly"......it was once a decent bike to get someone started riding however. We sometimes get caught up in our upper end tricky stuff and forget the beginning types who need something not too pricey to start the process......
Finest bike ever BUILT? Duh? I would guess the owner/seller thinks because DIAMLER is part of the name this bike has some Diamler-Benz type quality. I recall some Austro-Diamler/Puchs that were pretty well made "back in the day" but the bike in the photos is NOT one of 'em! Unless he finds a seriously uninformed buyer I fear he'll need to lop one of the zeroes off his price.
Just saw a photo from Art Wester's Facebook page with you in Mavic gear. Brought back a lot of great old memories. It would be great to catch up with you.
