Losing bulk in Tulsa

Sometimes I forget (I confess) the simple joy of the bicycle. And the benefits it can bring to folks who may never pedal from Seattle to Saint Augustine or win a road race. This guy, for instance....

That's the kind of story we need to focus on. Between the health and environmental angles, bicycling as transportation is a no-brainer.

To make this work you have to "turn on" to cycling (or any other exercise). It seems that about 10 percent of us who try commuting by bike end up becoming bicycle riders. The rest of us let our "new transportation devices" sit in the garage and age gracefully.

We're a nation of rapidly growing people and any way we can find to get enjoyable exercise . . . is good. Bicycling has caused my weight to drop, my blood pressure to plummet and my pulse to drop from about 85 (resting) to about 60.
