Annie Londonderry.... who?

Here's a link to an Examiner piece featured in the Denver edition but written by an Atlanta woman, Carol A. It's ostensibly about the current Tour de France - but after a paragraph or two about the Tour and a paragraph about the origins of the bicycle, it talks about a woman named Annie Londonderry....

We already knew about Mark Cavendish's victory and Leonardo's drawings, but I don't believe we knew much about Annie....
