We struggle to understand people who don't know us but seem to have made up their minds about us anyway. We struggle to understand people who have decided that we hardly qualify as human beings because of some aspect of our appearance or behavior that we cannot imagine is offensive.
Frieda Mitchell asked Dr. King how he could ask her to love people who denied her humanity.
